Orion

I am overly fascinated by the Universe, but only mildly interested in Earth-based astronomy. That feels like a weird combination. Most likely, that is because it is a weird combination.
I usually find Orion, or at least his belt. From there, I can see the Dippers. Which helps me to identify the North Star (Polaris). I am super good at finding the moon most of the time.
Once I’ve found the individual stars of the Big and Little Dipper, they become the handled cups drawn in books. Every constellation has a story. According to mythology, Orion was a master hunter who killed all the animals on Earth. As punishment, he was killed and placed amongst the stars.
The connections don’t exist until I find them. Then I can see them even if others can’t. They take on stories, there are relationships, they have meaning. They might evoke emotions.
The more I interact with a person, the more our invisible connections come into view. They take on stories. There are relationships. They have meaning. We evoke emotions.
These lines may not be real, but once I find them, they become real.
Will I slow down to find a connection with you? Can we sketch our story? Do I accept that as individual as I may feel, I am part of something larger?
Be curious, be kind, be whole, do good things.

Not sure why, but Spaceballs never did really “get me”, I don’t want to use a word as strong as hate, but, if given the choice, I’d certainly choose “not” to watch that…
Anyway, another great story this week, thoughtful, provokes inner thought and reflection…
The punishment for Orion sounds like a reward: to be placed among the starts. My fav is the Martian. I forgot most of the plot but I thought to myself: living in the space AND get to grow the potatoes? YES!
